1.0 Registration

When is CEVO registration?

The registration period begins three (3) weeks prior to the start of the event. All players and teams must be registered to a team by 11:59pm EST one (1) week before the designated event start date.

How do I become a member of CEVO?

Any individual may become a member of CEVO. It cost no money to register to become a member, simply follow the steps below:

  • We require that you read the CEVO rules prior to beginning the registration process
  • Click on the registration button in the upper right corner of the web site (cevolved.com)
  • Fill out registration form and provide accurate information in all required fields
  • Click on the submit button, and within a few moments you will be emailed your new membership password.

How do I create a new team in CEVO?

  • Before joining and team in CEVO, we require that you read the CEVO rules and fully understand them. If you have any questions of need clarification on any rule please contact a CEVO official.
  • Login to your CEVO account
  • Click on the MANAGE TEAMS button
  • Click on the Create New Team Button located on the left side
  • Click on the game type for which you want to create a team to compete in
  • Fill out all the required information on the team creation form
  • Click on the ADD TEAM button
  • You have now sucessfully created a new CEVO team and made yourself the captain of that team

How do I sign my team up for a CEVO event?

  • Login to your CEVO account
  • Click on the MANAGE TEAMS button
  • Click on your TEAM name
  • Click the SIGN TEAM UP FOR A CEVO EVENT button
  • Select the event you want to join
  • Your team is now signed up for that particular CEVO event

How do I join a team competing in CEVO?

  • Login to your CEVO account
  • Click on the MANAGE TEAMS button
  • Click on the JOIN A TEAM button on the left side of the page
  • Type in the name of the team you wish to join, and press the FIND TEAM button
  • Once you have located the team you wish to join, click the JOIN button located next to the team
  • Enter the teams join password and press the JOIN ROSTER button
  • You have now sucessfully joined the team

How do I compete in a CEVO event?

  • Login to your CEVO account
  • Click on the TRANSACTION MANAGER button
  • You will now see all the teams you have joined and your active membership status in that event
  • To compete in the event you have signed up for you must now click on the PAY NOW button and pay your $15.00 US membership fee for the event
  • You must now read the event disclaimer and accept all of its terms and conditions and click on the CONTINUE TO PAYPAL button
  • Now at paypal follow all the directions and submit your membership payment
  • You have now completed your membership into a CEVO event

Can I play on more than one team at a time?

NO. Playing on more than one (1) team at a time is not allowed and is considered a violation of the CEVO rules.

Can I play in more than one team if it is for a different game?

YES. A player may join more than one (1) team so long as it is for a different event or game.

How do I Join PayPal?

To join PayPal, go to there web site at www.paypal.com. Click the Sign Up button at the top of the PayPal home page. After you fill out the registration form, PayPal will send you an email to confirm that you receive messages at that email address. Once you confirm your email address, your account is activated.

Here's How:

  • Click the Sign Up link at the top of any PayPal page
  • Fill out the signup form
  • Click Sign Up
  • Check your email inbox
  • Click on the link in the PayPal Confirmation email
  • Enter your password and click Confirm
  • You have finished signing up and may start using your PayPal account

Can one person pay for an entire team or an individual player?

Yes. Captains and Managers are allowed to pay for players on their team. When a Captain or Manager pays for a member or members on the team, CEVO assumes that once a member is payed for, that member owns that membership spot and not the party that payed for the initial membership. It is the members individual responsibility to repay any and all debts to the Captain or Manager that paid for the membership

2.0 Editing Information

How do I edit my CEVO player profile?

To edit your player profile:

  • Log In to your account
  • Click on the MY ACCOUNT button
  • Click on the Account Information button
  • All editable options will be displayed
  • Click and edit the option you would like to edit
  • Once you have edited the information, click UPDATE ACCOUNT INFO

If you need to edit information and that field is un-editable, contact a CEVO official in our IRC channel at #cevo-support at irc.gamesurge.net or via our ventrilo server

How do I edit my CEVO team profile and roster?

The Captain or Managers may edit the team profile. Team rosters may also be edited by the team Captain or Manager.

To edit the team profile information do the following:

  • Log In to your account
  • Click on the MY ACCOUNT button
  • Click on the MANAGE TEAM button
  • Team Captains and Managers will see all available teams they can edit
  • Click on the TEAM Name of the team what you want to edit
  • All editable options will be displayed
  • Once you have edited the information, click update

3.0 Divisions

What are the different divisions of CEVO?

Divisions are established to provide a fair and even level of competition and game play. CEVO offers four (4) divisions.

CEVO Professional Division
The CEVO Professional Division will showcase only the greatest teams in North America. The twelve finest teams will be chosen through invitation only as we seek to provide media and the community with top caliber matches that leave you on the edge of your seat.

CEVO Main Division
CEVO Main Division will re-establish the glory days of an elite main division. Approximately 75-100 of the top community teams will compete in intense matches with the hope of becoming professional gamers. Teams must apply to be in CEVO-M and will be accepted based on history, experience, accomplishments, leadership, stability and a host of other factors.

CEVO Intermediate Division
CEVO Intermediate Division will be home to all those seeking serious competitive play but are not yet ready for CEVO-M. Our Intermediate Division will not have any entry requirements, if you think you can succeed you are more than welcome to compete.

CEVO Amateur Division
CEVO Amateur Divison is designed for the casual gamer who is also interested in organized play, sophisticated anti-cheat and the best customer-support in the industry. The Amateur Division completes our goal to incorporate all gamers in the excitement and evolution of competitive e-sports.

Can I choose what Division to compete in?

YES. You have the right to choose what division you would like to join.

Officials reserve the right to refuse admission into a specific division prior to the registration deadline.

Can I appeal my team's division and move to a different division?

A team has the right to appeal an official's decision to move them from a division. If you feel your team was moved in error or unjustly, you can appeal your move by going to our IRC channel #cevo-support at irc.gamesurge.net or via our ventrilo server .

4.0 Tournament

How is the tournament playoffs structured?

Tournament brackets and information will be posted forty-eight (48) hours after the last match of week seven (7) is reported. Tournament rules are subject to change and will be posted on the news page. The number of teams from each conference that will be invited to the event will be released at this time. The brackets will be structured as follows:

  • Winners of each group will be seeded based on Wins and Rounds Won
  • All teams will play head to head matches with the highest seeded team playing the lowest seeded team. The second highest seed will play the second lowest seed and so forth.

5.0 Prize Money

Is prize money awarded to playoff winners?

YES. Prize money will be awarded to the top six(6) teams of each of the Amateur, Intermediate, and Main Divisions. The top four (4) teams will be awarded in the Professional Division.

How is prize money determined?

The total prize money is subject to change based on the following:

  • Player Membership Fees Collected (Not including administration fees and PayPal Charges)
  • Advetisement Revenue
  • Sponsorship Revenue

How is prize money distributed?

The six (6) teams as determined by the tournament outcome will be paid prize money. The prize money will be distributed as follows for the Amateur, Intermediate, and Main Divisions:

  • 1st Place: Will receive 40% of the prize pot
  • 2nd Place: Will receive 25% of the prize pot
  • 3rd Place: Will receive 15% of the prize pot
  • 4th Place: Will receive 10% of the prize pot
  • 5th Place: Will receive 5% of the prize pot
  • 6th Place: Will receive 5% of the prize pot

The prize money will be distributed as follows for the Professional Division:

  • 1st Place: Will receive 40% of the prize pot
  • 2nd Place: Will receive 30% of the prize pot
  • 3rd Place: Will receive 20% of the prize pot
  • 4th Place: Will receive 10% of the prize pot

All prize winnings will be mailed out via certified United States Postal Mail Service. Each member of the winning teams will receive their own winning payment.

6.0 Demos and Screenshots

Do I have to record a first person demo?

YES. Players are required to record a first person demo. All players must record a separate demo for both the Counter Terrorist, and Terrorist halves of the match.

Do I have to submit first person demos?

YES if requested to by a CEVO official, however players are not required to upload 1st person demos otherwise. All players are required to hold first person demos for at least seven (7) days. After the seventh (7th) day, the demos may be discarded.

Do I have to take a screenshots prior to the official start of a match?

YES. Players are required to take screenshots prior to the official start of the match. Please see the events official rules on what is required during the screenshot round.

Do I have to submit screenshots?

YES if requested to by a CEVO official, however players are not required to upload screenshots otherwise. All players are required to hold screenshots for atleast seven (7) days. After the seventh (7th) day the screenshots may be discarded.

7.0 Disputes

How do I contact CEVO with a question or problem?

To contact a CEVO official you should go to our IRC channel, #cevo-support at irc.gamesurge.net. All questions and problems will be answered in the order that they are received.

What do I do if I think someone on the other team is cheating?

If you think that a player or team is cheating in any way, the team captain must do the following:

  • Login to your CEVO account via our website (cevolved.com)
  • Click the disputes button
  • Select the match from the available matches listed that you want to dispute (the match must be reported before disputes can be filed)
  • Fill out the dispute form with all the required information with as much detail as possible
  • Click the submit button

Once the dispute as been submitted, an email is sent out to the opposing team captain informing them of the dispute. Once the dispute is registered in the disputes database, an official will be in touch with the disputing party within twenty-four (24) hours. At that time an official will request a copy of all first person demos and screenshots. Players have twenty-four hours to submit the requested files to the official. After the requested files have been received, a ruling on the dispute will be made within seventy-two (72) hours. For more information on disputes or cheating, please read the CEVO rules. All players are required to read and fully understand the rules prior to participating in any CEVO event.

8.0 CEVO Match Network (CMN)

What is the CEVO Match Network (CMN)?

The CEVO Match Network (CMN) was developed in-house and is proprietary. This Client, Server, and Content Server application allows CEVO to verify and authenticate register users of CEVO, while providing the framework for a real-time in-game stats environment.

9.0 Game Servers

Can CEVO provide a Game Server for match play?

In the event that neither team can provide or agree upon a playable server, a CEVO server can be provided.

How do I reserve a server for a match?

If either team does not have a game server for a match, they may reserve a CEVO game server by having the team captain fill out the Server Reservation form on the CEVO web site. Servers are reserved in one (1) hour and thirty (30) minute time blocks. Remember to contact an official if start times/server reservation time slots are different than default start time. Servers are reserved on a first come, first served basis. All servers should be reserved at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled match date and time.

10.0 Officials

How do I contact an Official?

To contact a CEVO Official visit our IRC channel #cevo-support at irc.gamesurge.net, or visit us on our ventrilo server at . Emailing an official should only be done if it has been requested or if there is a team emergency that requires interpretation.

Can CEVO Officials Play in the event?

CEVO grants its Officials the right to participate in any and all events. CEVO understands that this may cause or give certain appearences of bias and unfair judgements. In cases where bias or disputes about general demeanor and or game play arise involving Officals that are participating in any CEVO event, the executive staff will be directly involved, rendering sanctions and verdicts based on evidence provided on a case by case basis.
