iPod: A Look Into the Revolution
By Staff Writer - CEVO|DeShong
It's the year 2003. The lucrative company Apple, has been somewhat quiet for quite a long time; once in a while, releasing a new update to their systems and setups, but nothing spectacular. Then, the revolution and the new term "iPod" was introduced to the common-man's vocabulary.
Within the past few months, Apple has released update after update to their iPod. It began with the simple idea of advancing the former look of the common MP3 player, and has become the video-playing, high-quality, and "handy" item that many of you probably put on your Christmas lists.
But many people asked the same resounding question. "Is it worth it?"
With comments repeating such as "people just buy it for the looks" and "there are MP3 players better than iPods", many people have actually questioned purchasing the iPod.
When this December arrived, I was still debating what to really ask for. I had upgraded my computer greatly during the summer, and had received an Xbox when it first came out, to which I later realized console gaming wasn't for me. I had relatives who had older versions of the iPod, and they kept telling me to get the new iPod (5G). I had many doubts ranging from whether I'd use it enough, to would I get headaches watching a "small" screen.
Well, weeks passed, Christmas arrived, and I got my new black 5th Generation iPod. This iPod had video, music, photos, and even tons of extras. I was amazed just by the sheer style and clarity of the iPod's structure.
So I went up on my computer and installed everything as usual, and started to add all my stuff to my iPod. Everything worked perfectly, album artwork, clarity and smoothness of videos, and anything and everything the iPod included.
Over time I figured out many solutions to my problems ranging from how to convert videos to iPod format and things such as making sure the visuals were synced with the audio. Good news is that it didn't take me long to figure out how to do these things and I'm now able to completely enjoy my iPod. I use it more than anything. Even in school study halls, I now have the community favorites, complexity: Armageddon and Ruination, and many others playing while I'm working on any homework for my classes. I even have full-fledge movies such as Silence of the Lambs, The Transporter, and Team America on my iPod.
The quality, the performance, and the specifications on the new iPod and previous iPod's has out-ranked hundreds of new MP3 players. With Apple always trying to stay on top of the game, and new updates to it, the revolution known as the iPod era looks to have no end in sight.
So I encourage you, if you haven.t considered it already, to think about purchasing an iPod. You'll truly be amazed, and if you have any complications or questions regarding the iPod, whether you have one or not, join Ventrilo or message me on mIRC and I'll gladly talk to you for a while!
